ExploreNS.ca - a single point of access for 650 Nova Scotia sightseeing locations

Congratulations to Paul Illsley, Nova Scotia cartographer, on his newly released interactive online map ExploreNS.ca, showcasing 650 sightseeing locations in Nova Scotia. ExploreNS.ca is a great example of the use of location-based information to create a thematic map of Nova Scotia. The map uses GPS coordinates and information for selected points of public interest (beaches, trails, lighthouses, museums, parks and other cultural and natural features) around the Province.  In addition, the site offers various base mapping perspectives (imagery, streets, topographic layer, etc.) and user friendly map navigation tools.

Paul, thank you for making Nova Scotia’s places of interest more accessible for Nova Scotians and visitors to our Province.
